As I have been learning the cry engine for the up coming fmp I had learned how to import textures and assets into a scene. I used the standard pre built forest scene that comes with the Engine. Here is my Vespa loaded up in Cry Engine 3.

Finished and Ready
Here are some shots from my rooftop! The steam moves and blows about a little, the AC Units have spinning fans, you can shoot the boxes and fling them around and even carry them up the ladders which were a right pain to sort out!

Creating the steam
Been up to this which is why they are a little coming but here are the materials and some of my process in creating certain aspects of the rooftop.
Heres the first material I amde when learning about particle effects and how they worked.
It was very basic to begin with and I wasn't very happy with the result. I remebered the sky material tutorial I made and how I implemented rotatating elements and making things softer and adding variations in rotation. I also found a few things online that pushed me in the right direction and I ended up spending a day making a larger more complex material that took a fair bit of time to create but was definitely worth it.

Rooftop Finished!
I have finally finished the rooftop. I have made a lot of improvements from the last updates I'll show my process where I can but it's all in the design document I have written as well.
Sorted out the lighting with some fiddling and time tweaking it with a post process chain. This helped in making the shadows richer without losing a lot of lighting detail and also made the colour slightly more saturated. It also help stop teh hotel sign I had from filling the level with light and had a much subtler effect over the scene.

Making some changes
Basically changed the lighting and re- made the sky box! Really wanted to get that moody night time feel from the rooftop. Also discovered that I could down res my textures to 256 x 256 which now means I have a lot more budget to play with and means I can get some really nice extra details in there.
